Become an “Inspired Mentor”

We are very excited to be serving in our community with the City of Aurora, helping refugees and immigrants learn English.

Our “English Corner” has three levels of English Classes:

Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Classes are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am -11:30am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – Alameda Building, 11100 E. Alameda, Aurora, CO.

Inspired Mentors are placed on teams of 8-10 people and are assigned a specific class level to teach. A team leader oversees his or her group and makes sure teachers are in place each week for classes. Having teams allows us to share the teaching opportunities.  The curriculum will be provided for you, by your team leader, ahead of time.

We are asking for a commitment of one Saturday morning per month, unless you wish to teach more often. We will have two Inspired Mentors assigned in each classroom, to support one another in teaching and interacting with our students.

We have voluntary training meetings on the first Saturday of each month from 9am-9:45am to practice teaching skills and orient new Inspired Mentors.

We hope you will find this experience rewarding and uplifting as you serve wonderful people from around the world who have come seeking help to learn or improve their English so they can provide a better and safer life for their families.

If you would like to become an “Inspired Mentor” please fill in the information below and submit.

We will be quick to respond and are delighted to welcome you as a new member of the “Inspired Mentor” Team!
